Spheros joins the Valeo Group

Successful closing of the Valeo take-over: as of 1 April 2016, the Spheros Group is officially part of the French automotive supplier Valeo.

Spheros sees its inclusion under the Valeo Group umbrella as an excellent long-term basis for a collective push towards further innovations in bus air conditioning systems. The field of hybrid and electric applications in particular offers great synergy potential. The acquisition of Spheros will enable Valeo to expand its thermal management activities in the fast-growing bus market. Numbering 1,100 employees workforce and 21 plants, Spheros will make up the new unit “Thermal Bus Systems”, whose management will remain in the tried-and-trusted hands of Helmut Zanker. “We are delighted to welcome the Spheros family to our Valeo team”, said Jacques Aschenbroich, Valeo’s CEO, at the first get-together in Gilching in April. “Their technological know-how, combined with the expertise of our Thermal Systems teams, will enable the Group to consolidate its leadership in the air conditioning market as well as opening up entirely new markets.”
